Selina Javaid

Selina Javaid is a local artist and educator and organiser of this event. She has exhibited her paintings and cyanotypes in exhibitions around London including with the Federation of British Artists at Mall Galleries and her photography and video work internationally including New York, Köln, Budapest, Cairo and Yogyakarta. She teaches art classes from her home studio, educates teenagers in a state school and squeezes in her art practice and commissions whilst caring for her beloved two young children. “In particular, I want to shine a light on emerging artists, hobbyist and enthusiasts, who may not have the time or money to practice art full time, but find peace and joy in creating and want the chance to have their work seen.”

Jane de Sausmarez

Jane de Sausmarez taught colour theory and practice in the Conservation Department of the City & Guilds of London Art School and Fine Art Painting Courses at the Open College of the Arts (OCA). She also lectures and is the author of a book on colour, entitled, Basic Colour; A Practical Handbook, published in 2008. In 2014 she gave a lecture on colour at the National Gallery - Colour: Understanding the Deception. and also gave that lecture in 2015, at the Bruton Art Society. She began her career teaching drawing at Hornsey College of Art, where she met her husband, Maurice de Sausmarez. For thirty-five years she taught Printed Textiles and Colour Theory in the Textile Department at Goldsmiths College and has also taught at many other art schools, including the Central School of Art and the Byam Shaw School of Art. For over twenty five years she has been running intensive colour workshops for both students and professionals from her home in London. “As a colourist I have a keen interest in colour and composition, atmosphere and feeling and I look forward to seeing something fresh and unexpected.”

Felix Stochaj

Felix Stochaj (b.1989) is a multidisciplinary artist born and working in London who mixes traditional techniques with modern processes, technology and media. Felix runs an art organisation called Ultra Kolor that creates socially engaged visual art projects centred around marginalised inner city communities and young people. This takes the form of murals, marketing campaigns, youth work, installations, animations and exhibitions “This years theme of ‘Home’ is a particularly evocative one, and I am looking forward to seeing how artists interpret their ideas, experiences and emotions associated with the topic. Home is an idea that transcends different planes: physical, emotional, mental and spiritual; I am particularly interested in artworks that broaden some of our more traditional perspectives of what a home is, what it brings up for us on an individual level and its impact on collective experiences.”

Nimrod Vardi

Nimrod Vardi is the creative director and founder of arebyte (Est.2013), an arts charity dedicated to art and technologies and recent Arts Council England NPO; Arbeit Studios (Est.2010), a creative workspace provider with over 300 Studio spaces across London; and Spacecraft (Est.2018), a community-led placemaking consultancy specialising in commercial and cultural activation. “I have a particular interest in media and time based work (video, digital, etc) and performance based work and am hoping that non-traditional artists submit their work as well as traditional artists.”
